Part Number BE082
Definition
The Clarion is a wireless digital transceiver. It transmits or receives data packets for remote sensing or control, or it may function as a wireless modem. It is small, so that it fits discreetly in a location. It is suitable for outdoor installation. It may be set up as Peer to Peer, or set up with one Clarion being the parent to several other children units. It uses proven Bluetooth, Class I technology, operating in the ISM band, 2.405 2.48 GHz. No additional licensing is required. The unit may be battery powered and connects to any device that needs to communicate wirelessly. The units operate under extreme low power, typically < 12ľA while quiescent. SensorNet is supported, so a wide variety of IO modules may be attached. In a typical application, one Clarion communicates status information to another, which has relay outputs attached via SensorNet; these outputs are suitable for operation of a lamp, alarm, or motor control. The system is monitored failsafe in that it continuously checks itself. The integrity of the sensing input is monitored, as is the battery. If these fault, this fact is communicated to the receiver. The receiver also goes to fault state in the complete absence of signal from the transmitter. Transmit power is adjustable. Distances to 400 (120m) are possible. Every transmitter is assigned a unique address in order to prevent interference with other systems. The protocol is also designed to minimize data collisions,so high density applications are possible . Features
