Definition
The Monitor is a rugged, compact, inexpensive versatile artificial vision system. It uses a standard CMOS USB camera and a proprietary image processor, which is the key. The latter allow frame-grabbing, digital image processing, and artificial intelligence decision making. Other cameras, additional optics and illumination may be easily integrated. The Monitor is used to supervise automated door and gate closing, object counting, defect detection, robotics, and wherever a machine vision system is useful. The Monitor uses sophisticated digital signal processing algorithms. Lower quality devices typically do not perform these algorithms well, if they attempt them at all. The unit is battery-powered, so it is easily deployed. Another advantage to this is that it operates within industry low-voltage safety standards.
