uPAC – Programmable automation controller
Part Number  BE076

Definition
The uPAC is a DIN-rail mounted programmable controller with built-in IO, as well as extensibility to other, specialized modules.  Programmable Automation Controllers represent the next generation after traditional PLCs.  They combine the determinism and reliability of a PLC with much more standard, included functionality.  They are easier to program and less expensive than PLCs.  The uPAC is a general purpose industrial computer with sophisticated and robust built-in IO capability.  It meets the needs of many users for a simple, reliable, small-scale PLC with IO.  It is DIN rail mouted, with 20 terminals.  It is easily programmed with the free, included software utility.  The user may program simple logic operations, PID control algorithms, timing control, data logging, and so forth. The uPAC is capable of basic functionality by itself, but there are also several optional internal add-ons that augment its operation.  These are detailed below. Lastly, uPAC has a SensorNet wired interface which allows it to connect to any other SensorNet device.  These include various analog and digital IO expanders, also detailed below.
