Model ZA-1 Complex impedance scanner
Part Number  BE088

Definition
The Model ZA-1 is a benchtop instrument for measuring the complex electrical impedance of devices.  It measures both real impedance magnitude and phase angle.  Frequency sweeps can be easily programmed as well as measurements at user-set frequencies.  It may be thought of as a scanning LCR meter.  The latest generation Model ZA-1 uses advanced digital techniques to assure superior range, accuracy and stability.  It is typically used to test cables, transmission lines, capacitors, inductors, transformers, and transducers.  It is microcomputer controlled.  Amplitude is adjustable.  For component evaluation, statistical sorting bins can be set up.  The Model ZA-1 is capable of measuring various combinations of RC, RL, LC, LCR.  It also has a test function for Equivalent Series Resistance for capacitors.  Surface mount adapters are available.  The user interface is designed for easy use by personnel of all skill levels.  Setup is menu-driven, and repetitive tests can be cycled with one key press.  The Model ZA-1 is completely self-contained and does not require another computer to operate.  The ZA-1 can, however, communicate results to another computer via serial link.
