Hero - Toxic Gas Detector
PDF datasheet and reference files.
Description. The Hero (#BE-HE01 = ammonia) is a simple, rugged, compact device that detects and records exposure to toxic gas. It is typically deployed temporarily as a screening precaution. The data are reported over a BLE link. There are also an audible alarm and LED indicators.
#BE-HE01 is configured to measure high concentration ammonia vapor.
Hero uses active air flow to expose a patch of material that has been infused with a reagent. In the presence of the target gas or aerosol, in high concentration, this reagent changes qualitatively. An extremely precise photometric sensor is focused upon the reaction area. The sensor tracks any change as soon the device is activated. Human operators typically lack the patience or acuity to do this well, besides the fact that we need to protect them from the toxic substance. The signal is passed through an AI algorithm for characterization. There is a low power microprocessor. It also has a high precision temperature measurement. It is designed and manufactured in the US.
Hero is not a sophisticated bench-top analytical chemistry instrument. It is, however, an effective tool for detecting major toxic chemical events.
