"We had a concept for a standard fitting LED luminaire, high power and luminosity, running on mains voltages, and we had an existing supply agreement with a major appliance manufacturer. We could not find anyone to design and build the units though. We had prototypes from an offshore developer literally going up in smoke. And they were not at all cost efficient to build. I must say, Black Oak did a quick and thorough job saving the project. They understood the problems quickly. Their design was what we went to manufacturing with. It met all specs and cost half to produce by eliminating custom machined parts. Passed UL too."

"Our lab conceived the idea of using piezo-thermal atomic force microscopy probes to investigate the mechanical and thermal properties of living cells. The probe must operate in an aqueous environment. It must be capable of viscoelastic measurements and z-axis sensing using a piezoresistive element. We also needed to measure thermal and electrical conductivity. Extremely low noise specs. Battery operation in some cases. We received a federal research grant, but frankly, we lacked the expertise or bandwidth to engineer the hardware ourselves. Black Oak did an outstanding job. We had the primary bridge driver operational within two months. They supported us through a series of spec changes and testing
developments. They personally visited us twice."
